OAVS Principal & Teacher Post Eligibility Criteria 2024

Principal:
- Age Limit: 32 to 50 years
- Qualification: B.Ed. and Postgraduate degree
Teachers (PGT, TGT, and more):
- Age Limit: 21 to 38 years
- Qualification: Varies by subject (see below)
All candidates applying for the positions of TGTs (TGT Odia, TGT English, TGT Math, TGT Science, TGT SST) must have successfully passed either the OSSTET/OTET-Paper-II conducted by BSE or CTET-Paper-II.
Subject-wise Qualifications:
TGT English: English as a subject at the Graduation Level with Honours, Pass, Elective, Major, or Specialization, along with completion of a B.Ed. degree.
TGT Odia: Odia as a subject at the Graduation Level with Honours, Pass, Elective, Major, or Specialization, along with completion of a B.Ed. degree.
TGT Social Studies: To qualify, one must select a subject from B.A. in any of the following four disciplines: History, Geography, Political Science, or Economics. Additionally, they must choose another subject from the following eight options: History, Geography, Economics, Political Science, Indian Polity, Indian Economy, Indian Geography, or Landmarks in Indian History, offered as Honours, elective, or pass courses. Completing a B.Ed. degree is also required.
TGT Maths : For eligibility, one must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Science with a minimum of 200 marks in Mathematics as a subject, along with any two of the following subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Computer Science, Computer Application, or Statistics. Alternatively, a B.Tech/B.E. degree with 200 marks in Mathematics and any two of the aforementioned subjects is also acceptable. Completion of a B.Ed. degree is required in both cases.
TGT Science: A Bachelor’s Degree in Science must include any three subjects chosen from the following options: Botany, Zoology, Chemistry, Bio-Technology, and Life-Science, along with completion of a B.Ed. degree.
PGT:
- Completion of a Two Years Integrated Post Graduate Course in the concerned subject with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate (45% for SC/ST/PH/SEBC Candidates).
- Possession of a Master’s Degree in the concerned subject with at least 50% marks in aggregate (45% for SC/ST/PH/SEBC Candidates).
Art Teacher: A Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts or Visual Arts from a recognized university is required.
